The American Dental Association is a trusted organization that does many helpful things, including testing dental care products for safety and effectiveness. The Seal of Acceptance program began in 1931 and is still running today. It is a great program that informs us on the best, safest, and most efficient products possible.

Some products that can have the ADA seal of acceptance include:

· Denture products, like denture adhesives and denture cleaners
· Emergency tooth preservation products
· Floss and flossing tools
· Mouthwash, including antibacterial, fluoride, and non-prescription rinse
· Mouthguards
· Sugar-free chewing gum
· Pain relievers
· Teeth-whitening kits
· Toothbrushes
· Toothpaste
· Oral hygiene gel
· Water filters that do not filter fluoride

If a product has the ADA seal of acceptance, you will know that it has passed tests that evaluated for safety and effectiveness. In fact, the tests have higher standards than the traditional law, so the product will also give you better and safer results. So, each time you go to the store to purchase an oral hygiene product, please remember to look for the American Dental Association’s seal of acceptance. That way you and your family members will have the best chance at achieving your smile goals and maintaining a strong and successful oral health.
